The annual meeting and election of directors for the St. Louis Park Hockey Association (SLPHA) Board is typically held annually each June. Please see below regarding the 2021 SLPHA board annual meeting and revised election process.
Pursuant to Section 1.17 of the by-laws of the St. Louis Park Hockey Boosters, Inc., (a.k.a. St. Louis Park Hockey Association), the board of directors of the Association makes the following resolution:
1. That the board of the association is charged with holding an annual meeting of the membership of the Association at which time the members of the association are allowed and encouraged to vote on candidates for board and officer positions. In response to the successful participation in last years online event and drive through voting, the board has decided not to hold an in person annual meeting. Instead, the following procedures will be used.
a. The annual reporting will be made available to the membership via a slide deck which will be posted on the association website from June 17, 2021 (11:00am) through June 21, 2021.
b. On June 21, 2021, a drive through drop box system of voting will be set up in the Rec Center Parking lot. Voting will be available from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm. All members are expected to follow any social distancing requirements put in place by the state, the city, or the Rec Center.
c. Votes will be counted and the results posted on the web site by the end of day on June 22, 2021.
All members of SLPHA in attendance are eligible to cast 1 vote per position during the elections. No proxy or absentee votes will be accepted.
A member of SLPHA is defined as meeting 1 of the following 3 criteria:
1. A parent or legal guardian of a registered player for the 2020-21 season.
2. A registered, non-parent coach who coached during the 2020-21 season.
3. An elected, non-parent board member.
All those interested in a board position must also submit a brief written statement by June 14, 2021 indicating the following:
This statement will be posted on the SLPHA website for members to review prior to voting on June 21, 2021.
Each SLPHA member vote will be confirmed eligible according to the 2020-21 registration list.
The result of the elections will be communicated association wide via email and will be posted on the SLPHA website by the end of the day June 22, 2021.
The newly elected board members will then be confirmed at the July board meeting.
Positions noted are up for election for a two-year term unless indicated otherwise.
